Bosch Rotak 43 Li Review

The Bosch Rotak 43 is a corded electric mower and the largest in the Bosch’s most popular Rotak range.

With a large 43cm deck, an ergonomically designed adjustable handle and a very powerful motor to back its operations it has become very popular in recent times and has been widely recommended by consumers.

Now let’s have a look at the Bosch Rotak 43 Li in detail and see for ourselves the reasons for its popularity and also the areas where it can be further improved.

Most of the lawnmower unit comes pre-assembled and hence setting it up is just restricted to joining the handle and clipping the grass box together. Setting up the lawnmower is thus pretty simple and a tool-free affair.

The Rotak 43 has a robust and sturdy design with a soothing green body and a grey front panel. Most part of the lawnmower has a resilient plastic body that attributes to its lightweight except the Leaf Collect which is a steel blade assembly calculated to generate a stronger airflow.

Bosch claims that the deck is made using dent and crack resistant materials and has a waterproofed the deck and other moving parts to eliminate any risk of corrosion. The plastic body is sturdy enough to handle rough usage and can last for years without falling apart.

The handle is ergonomically designed to make your mowing experience comfortable and the power control is located on the handle for added convenience.

The Ergoflex System that this lawn mower boasts off consists of the ergonomic design and adjustable handles that aid in maintaining better body posture and reduce muscle strain while mowing. It enables easy comfortable steering of the mower across the lawn.

The handle can be folded easily by unclipping the locks on either side without creating any scratch on the handle finish. This makes the lawnmower more compact and aids in easy storage.

Despite having a wide cutting edge of 43” the Rotak 43 consumes very little storage space. There is a separate carry handle that will help you carry back the mower over uneven terrains or up steps.

There is a 50-liter grass box that is large compared to the size of the mower but the contoured tall box is well designed so that less effective space is used.

Review of Bosch Rotak 43 Li Lawn Mower

Bosch Rotak 43

A single height adjustment lever is located on the left side of the deck.

There are grass combs at the front of the deck that allows you to mow right up to the edge and leaves an opposing directional stripe as a by-product on the yard. The stripes are especially popular in the UK market and we can well feel that it has been designed keeping the UK market in mind.

The lawnmower comes with a 15-meter long cord.

The rugged rubberized wheels, the Ergoflex System, the adjustable handle with double grip handlebars all contribute to the ease with which the Rotak 43 can be maneuvered all throughout the lawn.

While the large rubberized wheels avoid clogging and in turn tearing of grass, the Ergoflex system takes off the strain from your muscles and you can walk behind your mower with a comfortable body posture while guiding it through to get the job done.

The handles also take off most of the vibrations from the motor. Turning the mower at the end of each run is also not a difficult task and can be carried out comfortably.

The Bosch Rotak 43 li starts off with just the push of a button. The cutting performance of the Rotak 43 is brought about by the power of a 1800W motor and the 43cm hardened steel blade.

The 1800 W motor is the most powerful one in the Bosch range and has the ability to cut grass quickly over an area of 600 square feet without you feeling drained out after the job.

The Rotak 43 delivers consistently high torque so that you can cut through the thickest grass. The 43cm hardened steel blade provides a wide cutting area and large yards can be mowed in fewer passes, thereby saving a lot of mowing time and energy.

The height of the cutting deck can be adjusted by a single lever on the left side of the deck. The lever lets you adjust the height between 2cm and 7cm. The height adjustment lever is a bit difficult to operate according to some consumers.

The grass combs allow you to cut right up to the edge of flower beds or walls and ensures a uniform clean cut all throughout. The Bosch Rotak 43 is equipped with innovative airflow technology.

The airflow is such manipulated that most of the grass or to be precise 99% of the grass that has been cut is guided over to the grass collection box. The grass collection box has a huge capacity of 50 liters which is at par with most large gas-powered machines.

Though the grass collector has received some amount of criticisms in a few aspects. Removing the grass collector to empty it and re-installing it into the mower unit poses a problem. Also, the 15m long cord may not always suffice the length you want to mow.
